Week of March 18, 2019

THANK YOU for pumping up our Fun Run and for participating with your learners.  Learners are doing an awesome job of securing pledges!  Our success is because of YOU, your encouragement, and your communication with our FamiLEEs.

THANK YOU for an incredible Open House and for showcasing your children and their learning in such creative ways!  Our parents are SO COMPLIMENTARY of you and our school.  We appreciate all of the extra help covering classes for teachers who were out and in the help in the Art Show.  These extra efforts make Lee Our Happy Place!

Have a wonderful Spring Break!  Be safe as you make memories with your loved ones and friends.

DID YOU KNOW:
  • we will clean out the refrigerator tomorrow at 1:30?  Please have your items out of there so they don't spoil over the week off.  Please make sure you have plans for class pets.
  • you might want to consider changing your password before leaving for Spring Break?
  • you should be adding evidence of your professional goals in Strive? Don't wait until End of Year summatives to have to curate your evidence.   Thank you for uploading your SLO trackers last week!
  • CISD summer learning opportunities are planned and an infographic about the topics and dates are here.
  • Child Nutrition is hosting a full day gardening training at Denton Creek on April 24?  We can send up to three teachers.  If you are interested, please let me know before leaving for Spring Break so I can send in your name.
  • our DLCs are hosting learning opportunities in March?  Check them out here
  • RTI Meetings start back up on Monday?  Please check the schedule and make sure you have uploaded your documents for your learners.
  • there are boundary realignment brochures from CISD in your teacher mailboxes that must go home on Friday?

ENROLLMENT FOR 2019-2020
Please share this with your parents:
Now that CISD has finalized Boundary Realignment, it will help our school to get information from our FamiLEEs so that we can prepare accordingly for the 2019-2020 school year.  We kindly request that you take time to fill out this SHORT form so that we can plan for adequate placement for learners at Lee.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION BEGINS
Please be patient with our front office when we return from Spring Break.  In addition to the number of families they will continue to enroll, they will also be registering new Kindergarteners.  Please send this to your parents:
FamiLEEs,
Are you the parent of an incoming Kindergartener for the 2019-2020 school year?  Kindergarten registration begins Monday, March 18.  It is important that you register early to ensure your learner has a spot at Lee.  Please fill out and submit this NEW LEARNER FORM.  Once we have received it, the office will email the next two steps to complete your child's enrollment.  Please note: If your child is in PreK in Coppell ISD, you DO NOT have to re-register your child.  They will be transferred over internally.  We look forward to welcoming your new little Lee Spur to our FamiLEE!

GRADES AND REPORT CARDS
Please get your grades in by 8:00 on Tuesday morning.  Report cards will go home on the Friday we return from Spring Break. Thank you!

STAFF MEETING
We will be digging into Apple's Deeper Learning Book at Wednesday's Staff Meeting and also gathering artifacts to start designing our new Apple Book that is due this summer.  Please come with at least one learner creation you are proud of.  Thank you Courtney, for designing this graphic and part of our Staff Meeting!

FLEX TIME
You can start logging flex hours, for May 24, here.  Please mark your calendars, NOW, for April 11, from 5:00- 7:00, for Engineering Night.  This will earn each of you two of your six hours.  Your attendance at this campus event aligns with CISD's core values of Engagement and Relationships.  Hours for May 24 can also be earned by participating in Family Movie Night, PTO Meetings, Kindergarten Round Up, and Spring Conferences.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES
It is important that we revisit our school supply lists for PTO for next year so that PTO can secure the best pricing from EPI.  Please review, as a grade level, and make any adjustments.  Once your adjustments are made, change the date on your tab to "Your Grade 2019-2020" so we know you are done.  PLEASE do not increase items without taking other items off and also visit lists that are already completed to make sure you are not duplicating house supplies.  The total should be as close to $50 as you can get it.  Please have this done by March 29.

CISD FOCUSED WALKTHROUGH
We will give feedback on Domain 2 Dimension 1:  Achieving Expectations.  We will be looking for evidence that your learners have mastered content and are held to high levels of accountability for their learning.  This looks like self-assessing, reflecting on menu work or assignments, posting to Schoology or SeeSaw, etc.

LEE LIFE PRINCIPLE:
Fortitude- strength of mind that enables a person to encounter danger or bear pain or adversity with courage.

LESSON IN LEADERSHIP:
If someone in the class wins a game or does something well, we will congratulate that person.  If you win or do well at something, do not brag.  When you lose, do not show anger.
