FLEX HOURS

It appears you will need 18 hours of flex time for the 2019-2020 school year. Here are some summer virtual learning opportunities for you, if you want to earn flex time, over the summer when you have time.

#RJLYEAR6 SELFIE CHALLENGE

You all are making progress on your boards this summer. Keep it up! It is FUN to see how creative some of you are to achieve a box. I LOVE that about you all- keep thinking outside the box if you need to. If you haven't joined in yet, please do! You don't want to miss out on our gift card drawing when we come back to school.

LEARNING ABOUT LEE

Thank you, new hires, for creating a Twitter account and following our school. Also, thank you for reviewing our iBook. So that you are pacing yourself with all of the Lee information, I would like to suggest that you do the following, next:

Bookmark and become familiar with navigating our LEE FACULTY WEBSITE
Read our LEE STAFF HANDBOOK

This has been a busy week of wrapping up 2018-2019 and getting our 2019-2020 events on the Lee website and faculty calendar. Next week, I will be in New York attending Teachers Writing College at Columbia University. I will participate in the Writing Institute and look forward to returning with new knowledge to share. The last week of June we will continue to screen applicants for our fifth grade and ESL Facilitator openings- we will find perfect fits for our famiLEE. Thank you to some of our staff members who have been up at school helping me with interviews and organizing / prepping for next year. Our campus is getting cleaner by the day. Red, Yellow, and Blue House have all been deep cleaned and it SHOWS! Green was being worked on today.  Soundbars have been added to each of your Vivatek boards, too. Thank you to those of you that participated in Curriculum Writing all week. Your hard work will benefit ALL CISD learners. I am enjoying seeing new relationships grow and others deepen with our houses and grades. Thank you for putting relationships FIRST and telling your CISD story!!  MISS YOU!

Second Week of Summer Break 2019

We hope you enjoyed your first week of summer vacation.  It was loveLEE seeing so many of you at last week's Digital Learning at Coppell Middle School West.  Way to share your story and learning on Twitter!  For those of you that were unable to make the event, you can learn on your own by going to Schoology -> Courses -> Professional Learning Library -> Professional Learning Library -> Digital Learning Summer Conference.  I had huge "take-aways" from each session I attended.  One of my faves was all that I learned in the "Welcome Back to Your Mac" session.  Do you utilize Stacks? Do you have Adobe and Nomad on your Mac menu bar?  If you don't know what these are (I didn't) then check out that class.  I also enjoyed the Apple Classroom session.  I hadn't thought of using Apple Classroom to get feedback from learners, before.  Do you have your staff Bulb set up?  It's so easy when you check out the resources in the Elementary Digital Portfolio course.  Wherever you are on your digital journey, there is something for everyone!  If you cannot see the Professional Learning Library in your Schoology courses, try using this course code: 4HCGB-XQTJP .

STAFFING:
The last few weeks of the school year we finalized candidates for our open positions.  Thank you to our Admin Team, Jacque, and our Interview Team for their time and help.  We have extended offers to all of these candidates this year.  Please join us in welcoming:

Purple 2 Designer:  Meredith Wilson (832)405-2049 (CISD email coming soon)
Blue 2 Designer:  Ruby Bryant (817)675-4300 rbryant@coppellisd.com

Please take time to reach out and welcome each of them to our famiLEE.  As of today, we are fully staffed for 2019-2020.  We continue to watch our Kinder enrollment numbers, in case we need to add an additional Kindergarten section.  Right now, we are at 102 little ones.  Stay tuned!  We have locked in Taylor Holcomb's long term sub.  Her name is Ameila Howland.  We know she will do a great job.  Speaking of Taylor, she welcomed her gorgeous baby GIRL, Evaleigh, on 5/28/19.  She was born at 8:57am, weighed 7lb 13 oz, and was 19 inches long.  CONGRATS Taylor, Kyle and Kasen!!  I LOVE watching our FamiLEEs grow!

Look at that excited big brother!

She couldn't be any prettier!

HOUSE ASSIGNMENTS
Here are current assignments for the 2019-2020 school year.  Remember that they are always subject to change.  An "*" designates our Leadership Team members in house/grade.  A "__" indicates a new staff member.  Yellow highlighting means the position will need a long term sub for maternity leave.  Much effort was made to create balanced houses and grades.  We appreciate having such a flexible staff.  It is going to be a fabulous 6th year at Lee!

#RJLYEAR6 SELFIE CHALLENGE
Last year, we had our third summer selfie challenge and we are back for a fourth round.  This challenge is our way to see what you are doing this summer and to stay connected.  It is also a great way for our school community to see our new hires and for us all to get to know each other outside of school.  We hope everyone will be interested in joining the FUN.  Below is this year's board. Please tweet it out to your followers and encourage your learners and their famiLEEs to join in, too. Use the hashtags #rjlyear6  and #rjlsummerselfie. We will coordinate some outings this summer that can help you fill in a square or two.  If you plan something...spread the word!

NEW HIRES
As a new hire, I am sure you are thinking about what you can do to start getting ready for your new adventure at Lee.  This week I would encourage you to do these two things:
  1. Update or create a Twitter account.  Follow @NetZeroLee and other staff members.  Post to the #rjlsummerselfie challenge.
  2. Read our iBook about Lee.  The pages are interactive if you view on your iPad.

The next couple of weeks will be spent wrapping up 2018, digging into data, and visioning for 2019-2020.  We have a Leadership Retreat planned for July.  Admin will work with custodial and maintenance to get your spaces painted and repaired so you come in to a sparkling space in August.  Please enjoy your summer break.  Relax.  Make memories.  Learn something new.  We already miss you!  Please know I am feeling blessed to have served as your Principal this year and can't wait to see what #rjlyear6 brings us.
