ESL STRATEGY OF THE WEEK
Don’t underestimate (or forget!) the power of choral reading. Choral reading allows EBs to practice their reading fluency, pronunciation, and their ability to read sight words. Not only that, but it gives a safe space for mistakes to be made since they are doing it with a group of learners. This practice can help build their self confidence with reading. All readers will benefit from this simple practice!
COPPELL EDUCATION FOUNDATION
You have ONE MORE WEEK TO REGISTER!
Mark your calendars and lace up your running shoes. The Coppell ISD Education Foundation will be hosting its Annual Run to Fund at Andy Brown East Park on Saturday, May 13. We can’t wait to see our Spurs at this fun event that benefits the Teachers and Students of Coppell ISD. Registration is now open at coppellisdef.org.
STAFFING UPDATES
Our interview team has been BUSY and we have recommended some great people for hire for next year. Gina will be teaching 3rd grade at Lee next year as Priscilla moves into our STEAM position.
Hello! My name is Gina Gutierrez, and I am finishing my third year of teaching in Arlington ISD. I graduated from UTA in 2020 and am currently obtaining my master's degree in Educational Administration at Tarleton University. I taught 2nd grade my first two years but currently teaching 3rd grade, which I think is my favorite grade to teach! I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family in my free time, watching Netflix, cuddling with my two cats, and shopping. I feel so blessed to be a part of Lee Elementary. I can not wait to meet all of you!
