You made it! Enjoy the weekend and beautiful Spring weather. Shout out this week to our fabulous Assistant Principals at Lee Elementary. We are lucky at Lee to have their expertise, skills, and hearts. I feel like one VERY blessed Principal having these two on Team Lee.
DID YOU KNOW:
- Levi Todd Whitthorne arrived on March 29 at 6:27PM weighing in at 8 pounds 4 ounces? He and Lauren are happy and healthy. Congratulations!
- audits from the district level will continue to evaluate if staff are wearing their badges and closing all exterior doors? We must have 100% compliance for the safety and security of all of us.
- all flex hour submissions have been approved, thus far by campus administration in Power School? Please make sure to submit before your summative meeting.
- we need all classroom designers to check learner bus tags on backpacks? If you cannot see/read their bus number anymore, please re-write it with sharpie. If it has fallen off, please add another one.
- the Shatterproof Course in Power School is due by April 30?
- employee child transfers will open up on April 1? Watch for the email coming from CISD so you don't miss the deadlines.
- all first floor windows will have bullet resistant film by the end of the year? Right now only the door entries do. Exterior classroom windows will be covered, next.
SPECIAL THANK YOU
A special thank you to this year's interview team: Layne, Leigh Ann, Angel, Angela, Jessica, Bethany, Kaitlin, Laura, Cassie and Samira They will be helping at Saturday's Job Fair and throughout hiring season. We appreciate their help finding new FamiLEE members for next year. Please do not put them in an awkward position and ask them about interviews and positions as they have signed confidentiality forms.
PARAPROFESSIONAL APPRECIATION DAY
It takes our whole team to make a difference with our learners. We are so lucky to have a fabulous paraprofessional team here at Lee! WE NEED YOU! Thank you to each of these ladies for the time and commitment they provide our school. Your hard work is noticed and valued!
COLLEGE SHIRT DAY
All learners are encouraged to participate in wearing a college shirt on the first Wednesday of each month. I will certainly be sporting my Florida Atlantic University gear.

PTO BOARD FOR 2023-2024
Are you interested in joining the PTO Board for the 2023-24 school year? We have roles that will be a great fit for you, no matter how much or how little time you have to give. Click here to show interest. Details about each of the positions can be found in our Bylaws. Deadline to submit: April 2, 2023
SPRING CONFERENCES
You will want to begin planning for your Spring Conferences starting now. Please give due diligence to make contact with all parents to review their learner's data and goal setting. Keep documentation of parents who do/do not attend conferences. During your time together, I would encourage you to listen for in case a parent would like to make a change in house for the 2023-2024 school year, wants specialized testing, or is considering retention. Please write these requests down and EMAIL them to Chantel, Leigh Ann, and Angel. This makes sure that we have a second layer of accountability as we transition to the next school year. In addition, remind parents that we DO NOT take requests for house colors or designers and we do our best to have siblings in the same house, but cannot always guarantee it. We do our very BEST to keep as many learners in their house when we loop up, but we sometimes have to move learners when balancing our building each year. Parents WILL be notified by campus administration before Meet the Designer Night, if their learner is being moved. Please ask me if you have any questions!!! SAVE THE DATE

ESL STRATEGY OF THE WEEK
Use cooperative learning strategies. Lecture style teaching excludes EBs from the learning in a classroom We don’t want to relegate EBs to the fringes of the classroom doing a separate lesson with a classroom aide. Working in small groups is especially beneficial to EBs who have an authentic reason to use academic vocabulary and real reasons to discuss key concepts. EBs benefit from cooperative learning structures. Give students a job in a group. Monitor that they are participating.
LEE LIFE PRINCIPLE:
Curiosity- the eager desire to learn, to explore, to investigate
LESSON IN LEADERSHIP:
Learn and inquire about things that interest you.
LEE QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
"The future belongs to the curious. The ones who are not afraid to try it, explore it, poke at it, question it, and turn it inside out." -Anonymous
