It has been a wonderful first week back for Leigh Ann, Shanna and I. I even have an Admin Intern this year, so welcome to Hannah Barley!! We have been working behind the scenes to set up the 2021-2022 school year. We are super excited for the upcoming school year with all of you being part of our FamiLEE! We had our Administrator's Academy last week, so some information in this blog is "hot off the press."
DID YOU KNOW:
- we have the opportunity to provide Lee Staff a Door Dash Pass for $5 and $6 a month instead of $8.99-$12.99 normally charged? If 10 of you are interested in participating in this opportunity, please email Shanna, before the first day of school. Our "corporate rate is $6 a month for 3 months or $5 a month for 6 months. Once we have 10 participants, I can contact our Door Dash rep to get directions for how you can use this service at a discounted rate.
- if you have a positive COVID diagnosis, you still have to let me know? This practice will continue until further notice. CISD will no longer cover sick days if you have to be off due to COVID. You will have to use sick or personal time.
- at this time, masks are optional for staff and learners? You may not require a learner to wear/not wear a mask.
- you can order your 2021-2022 CISD Education Foundation t-shirt now? If you purchase this year's shirt, Dr. Hunt has given permission to wear it with jeans EVERY TUESDAY. Orders will only be accepted through Friday, September 10.
- there are district expectations for Schoology use for 2021-2022?
NEW HIRES
As a new hire, I am sure you are thinking about what you can do to start getting ready for your new adventure at Lee. Each blog I pepper out some suggestions so that you are not too overwhelmed during Back to School. This blog I would encourage you to:
- Please send a Bitmoji headshot of yourself to Leigh Ann to add to our FamiLEE tree wall.
- Check out our Faculty Website. You will want to bookmark this site as it is a one stop shop that has all you need to know about Lee Elementary and MORE!
- Connect with your House and Grade leads. You can find their name on this staffing list and email them. I know they will want to get your phone number to share with teammates.
It is OKAY if you are taking this time for YOU- please do not feel guilt if you wait until you are on contract time.
TO DO FOR ALL:
- Sign up for your health care with our benefits department.
- Fill out this form so we can learn all about your favorites. It also helps us with ordering your school shirts for the school year. We will share this with all of you so you can treat teammates.
- Read the RJL Campus Handbook, NOW, so you don't have to worry about it when school is in session. We request you read this by August 31. New/changed items are highlighted in yellow.
CISD EDUCATION FOUNDATION GRANT APPLICATION OPEN
CISD Ed Foundation grants are open July 1 through midnight September 13. If you submitted an application last year, log-in credentials are still valid. This is a SUPER avenue to get items for your classroom that cannot be purchased through approved vendors. GOOD LUCK!

BACK TO SCHOOL
Here are district directives for dress the week of Back to School. Principal discretion for me means comfortable and casual. It is HOT in Texas so be comfortable. Check out the section in our handbook titled "Dress, Attire, and Grooming- Staff" if you need clarification.
