Storytelling
Storytelling is a valuable teaching method that engages students in the curriculum being taught. Many students will come to us from cultures that continue to maintain a thriving and vital oral tradition and this will allow them to feel comfort in your classroom. It creates interest, relaxation, and opportunities to communicate feelings. Oral vocabulary will also increase the listener’s speaking vocabulary through poetic use of language. Students who are more auditory than visual benefit when the curriculum comes alive through storytelling.
