Week of January 19, 2026

What a week! We are ending the week on a high note. Congratulations to Preeti, Priscilla, Rachael, and Cathy on receiving grants from the Coppell Education Foundation. We cannot wait to see these resources in action.  Thank you for stepping up show support for Liliana and Laura.  You make our FamiLEE really feel like home!  AND.... THANK YOU for all of the extra efforts with Thinkapalooza!

DID YOU KNOW:
  • wipes are NOT permitted to be flushed in our school toilets?  Just passing along this knowledge from the CISD maintenance department. 🤯
  • 187 day employees need to accumulate 18 hours of flex credit this year? Please check out your portfolio in Power School to see that you are close and send in your submissions for approval, now.  I am up to date in approvals on my end.

THINKAPALOOZA
It's here!  I have no doubt you will make Thinkapalooza a fun one for our learners.  Enjoy spending time with ALL of your grade level kiddos and thank you to the double sections that have figured out plans and are rotating with groups. Thank you to everyone, especially Ayesha, for making this day possible for our learners and to all of the staff for your flexibility.  It is a Day 0 so all learners go to the gym and there are no FamiLEE lunches due to the grade level schedule on this day. Thank you Megan for helping with our decor.  Please take your class by for a picture.

NO SCHOOL
School will be closed on Monday in celebration of Martin Luther King Day.  Have a great 3 day weekend!

DESIGN DAYS
Enjoy the time to dream about house vertical planning and house CBL projects for the remainder of this year.  If you need more design time in addition to this day, let CK know so that she can arrange a day while we still have the budget dollars.  Can't wait to see what you design.

LEEDERSHIP COUNCIL HOT COCOA SALE
Our LEEdership Council will be selling hot chocolate to the learners on Wednesday.  Please encourage participation and share in your weekly newsletter.

FLEX LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
On Wednesday, Kara will host a flex session for those interested.  Please submit for credit in Power School.

SCHOOL CHOICE FAIR
This is an event where we will showcase the great learning that happens at Lee Elementary.  We will highlight our vertical house system, our experiential learning opportunities, and Challenge Based Learning.  Thank you to our staff members attending, our Choir for performing, and to Julie for making our display boards.

ANNUAL PTO DESIGNER GRANT APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN THROUGH JAN 25!
We are excited to offer our PTO grants again this year. If you are interested in applying for a PTO grant this year, please submit this form. Applications are open through Sunday January 25, 2026. We are looking forward to partnering with you!

GREAT KINDNESS CHALLENGE IS ALMOST HERE
Don't forget to start designing your class banner for the parade.  The parade will take place first thing Monday morning, January 26. Here is the link from Angela with details.  It would be nice for each class to participate.

SAVE THE DATE FOR 100TH DAY OF SCHOOL
The 100th Day of school is coming up on January 29.  Let your famiLEEs know so that they can start planning.
