Week of January 12, 2026

WOW!  This has been a fast and furious first short week back!  THANK YOU for the experiences you designed for our children.  It has been a joy walking the building and hearing and seeing your learners set goals, review resolutions, and vision for the new year.  I hope you all enjoyed easing in with a staff workday.  I encourage you to email input@coppellisd.com to let them know (if you do) so that they consider days like this as the develop the calendar for the next two years.  I want to say thank you for being the AMAZING staff that you are.  Thank you for being so attentive with Kelley on Wednesday and for the way that you go ALL IN all the time at Lee. Excellent work in your MTSS meetings. You are seen and appreciated!!!

DID YOU KNOW:
  • we are putting in subs for your upcoming design days on January 21-23? DO NOT PANIC if you see full day for you or no day for you.  We have it in the system the way we need to to secure subs and all of you are taken care of.   You should have received a calendar invite on Wednesday for your date and time.  I avoided conference times so you can still have them on your design days and tried to pair up so we can maximize subs.  Please do not request to be off on your design day.
  • LEEdership Council members should have come back and shared about our meeting?  Please make sure you give them time to discuss our upcoming events.
  • MOY testing window opens on January 12 through February 13? Please follow the schedule shared from the Leadership agenda. We will take feedback after this round to see if the changes helped with our testing environments.
  • it helps Amy when you share your Amazon cart with her when you share your list? Please help with this.
  • Abeer is available to book starting January 21, and we also highly recommend Natalie (Priscilla's sister)? Please book these two before other subs (or leaving it open for anyone to pick up) if you are planning on being out.
  • Holly requests if you have extra headphones, that they be returned to the library? We currently do not have any replacement pairs when someone turns in damaged headphones.

BLOCK WALKERS
We urgently need Block Walker volunteers from Richard J. Lee Elementary to support Cowboys United: Every Block, Every Voice, a districtwide effort to connect with families across Coppell ISD.
  • If you know your Quadrant, please select it on the form (see maps attached or available via this link: Maps of Quadrants.)
  • If not, enter Richard J. Lee Elementary and/or your home address, and we’ll assign you to a quadrant, which will be divided into teams of walkers
Why this matters?
Block Walkers help ensure every neighborhood has access to important CISD information by:
  • Sharing flyers and door-knockers (provided)
  • Encouraging attendance at the School Choice Fair on January 21
  • Helping CISD better know our community via data collection on a short form.
Details
We are still well below our volunteer goal and need additional walkers immediately before materials are distributed this week. Even one walk makes a difference.

MAP  UPDATES
Map testing will fall on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s for the 3 weeks. Here is the schedule. Please make sure that you have set up your testing sessions by Friday (1/9).

Instructions to roster, setting up test sessions and assigning accommodations are found here. Please lean into your team leads if you need help with rostering.

Keep in mind that the only accommodation that MAP provides is Text to Speech. If you have a learner who receives this accommodation, you must assign it to them. Note that Reading accommodations look different from Math/Science.

Good luck to everyone and let’s work hard to keep an optimal testing environment for everyone.

mCLASS UPDATES

Please take the time to read over the details regarding mClass. Here is a 3 minute overview on how to navigate mClass. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.🙂
  • Please make sure you go into mClass in advance and download the most current assessment pages as some have been updated.
  • Remember that mClass automatically scores and color codes learners’ results based on DIBELS benchmark norms.
  • Please note that 1st grade mClass must be completed by January 30th, 2026.
  • If you need support in the administration of mClass please lean into teammates, team leads, Julie, Ayesha, or Holly.

MOY GOAL SETTING
If you are a paraprofessional, instructional aide, or office support staff,  I would like to set up your middle of the year goal setting appointment with you.  Please have Amy schedule you on my calendar for 15 minutes on January 14 or January 16.  This is time for us to check in and see how I can support you and your professional goals this year.  This will be a conversation- you do NOT have to have documentation or evidence for this meeting.

For all others that are evaluated under TTESS, Angel and I should have scheduled your formal TTESS Observation by now. If any of you under TTESS want a middle of the year check-in, please email your evaluator.  We are happy to have one on one time with you.

MOY SLO CHECK-IN EMAIL FROM CISD
As we approach the midpoint of the Student Learning Objective (SLO) process, all TIA- eligible staff must complete the Student Growth Check-In Form in PowerSchool Perform by January 30th
To support successful and accurate MOY and EOY SLO submissions, it’s important that each educator carefully completes the steps outlined below. We encountered several data inconsistencies this year that required correction, and following these steps with fidelity is vital to maintaining the accuracy and credibility of our local designation system.

CISD COMPLAINCE COURSE
As shared in the CISD Compliance Course, campus staff will complete required compliance modules throughout the year in place of our former Counselor Conversations.
December’s compliance, Substance Abuse, is now available in PowerSchool PL.

  • Complete the module in Schoology at your own pace.
  • Credit will appear in PowerSchool PL after an overnight sync.
  • This course must be completed by January 31, 2026.
  • Use the interactive tutorial for quick, step-by-step instructions.
