Week of May 11, 2026

I hope you felt the LOVE from our PTO and families this week.   Happy Mother's Day to all of you.  Whether you have children of your own, or not, you mother the children in our school.  (Curtis, and Ed- I'll text you next month!!)  Thank you for all you do for our children and the love you provide them each and every day they are at school.  Please take care of yourself.  This time of the year is stressful with deadlines and tasks.  YOU'VE GOT THIS, TEAM!  Please ask for help if you need some.

DID YOU KNOW:
  • end-of-Year MAP reports will be digitally sent to families via Parent Square on May 20th by Julie B? No action is needed from designers for EOY MAP reports unless you would also like to send home a paper copy or use for your learner-led conferences. For mCLASS, print and send home the mCLASS cover letter and student reports. Please ensure these are sent home prior to May 21st. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Julie!
  • that only positive comments are expected on report cards?  Please start working on your report card comments.  Make sure you read the section below about report cards for learners who withdraw early.

FIELD DAY
Field Day is here and thank you to coaches and PTO for getting it all organized.  Here are some reminders:
  • Please be sure to show the Field Day presentation to your house before Field Day to ensure everyone is familiar with what to expect.
  • Please fill up the front parking lot before parking in the rear parking lot on Friday.  We need spots in the back for our volunteers who will check in with PTO by the custodial door.
  • Please permit learners to eat breakfast in your learning spaces because the cafeteria will be set up and used for one of the zones.
  • No chalk on walls or areas that rain will not wash away.
  • Officer Thames will watch the PE door closer to the ecoPond for learners who need to go in to use the restroom.  Staff will have to badge in learners on the cafeteria side.
  • Please make sure whatever movie you show your class/house is rated "G" and NOT DISNEY.
  • Please make sure that ANY adult you see outside has a Raptor sticker on them. If you see someone without a sticker, please ASK.
  • Staff may wear appropriate shorts and hats.  Don't forget to wear/have your "schedule" to keep everyone on track.
  • All kids should bring a change of clothes.
  • PTO will provide snacks and Jimmy Johns, for lunch, in the teacher's lounge.
  • We kindly ask each house stations a staff member at the dunk tank and only let learners push the button if their ball hits and does not engage the drop.  We appreciate your help!

CLASS LIST SUGGESTIONS for 2026-2027

EOY REPORT CARDS
Report card grades are due May 18.  Learners that have withdrawn within the first two weeks of the 4th quarter will have their 3rd quarter report card used as the final report card of the 25-26 school year.

Guidelines:
  • Withdrawn and did not return to Lee - (March 24-April 4) - 3rd quarter report card will count as the final report card
  • Enrolled by May 1st - should receive report card
  • Enrolled after May 1st - discuss with Angel
If you cannot see a learner on your roster then use the following directions below:

Anyone who leaves can now be made visible on the grade entry screens. In Teacher Access Center, on any “report card” screen, you can click on the Show/Hide Withdrawn Students icon in the upper right:

The middle selection will display “Sort within active students” when you hover over it. Select that icon and anyone who has withdrawn will show up in red, italicized print on the student list. At that point, grades/comments can be entered. This should also work for standards-based Social Skills & Study Habits data entry as well as data entry for PK report cards.

Kathy Creek is monitoring learners that are returning from an extended leave, and she is reactivating their report card, but if you have any trouble then please email Kat so she can do some behind the scenes magic.

TO DO LIST IN ONE PLACE
  • Student Growth Final Submissions due in Power School Perform on Friday, May 15.
  • EOY Checklist- we are trusting you to execute what is expected to be completed on the lists.  Please read them carefully and complete ALL tasks before school, after school, during your conference time, or during Team Time.  Please do not work on this while you should be teaching.  Learning should happen until the last day at Lee.
  • House Inventory- Please share with us on May 22.  Please make this a team effort and not left to your Leadership member.
  • Furniture Inventory (tab on your Inventory List)- remember extra furniture in your house may have taken a field trip to a neighboring house.  Before you take extras to the flex space, check with your neighbors.  It is wise to complete the furniture inventory on the LAST day of school.

THE GROW: SUMMER CONFERENCE IS QUICKLY APPROACHING ON MAY 27 & 28

The two-day conference at CHS9 will feature a wide variety of both content-specific and passion-inspired sessions. There truly is something for everyone! This is also the perfect opportunity to earn flex and GT update hours for the 2026–27 school year! 🌱 Check out the session catalog to see what you want to attend, and be ready to register for sessions on Monday, May 18th at 4:30 PM.

In addition to great sessions, get excited for other fun activities and offerings such as Assemble Coffee, a plant bar, food trucks, door prizes, and more.
For questions about the Grow: Summer Conference, please reach out to Amanda Mask (amask@coppellisd.com).
