Week of April 6, 2026

I hope you enjoy the long weekend and have a chance to rest, recharge, and spend time doing what fills you up.  You deserve it!  I also want to take a moment to share how much I appreciate each of you.  The care, consistency, and heart you bring to our learners every single day is visible and does not go unnoticed.

HAPPY ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL WEEK ANGEL!

DID YOU KNOW?
  • this month Yellow House and Red House are in charge of the lounge?  Please help put away dishes and tidy up the space.  Thank you!
  • FINAL purchase orders for the remainder of the year are due TODAY, April 2.  Thanks for your cooperation.  No other general purchase orders will be approved after Friday unless discussed with Chantel ahead of time. House leads, items to level out your house shared curriculum items that were missing from your end of year inventory are arriving and will be delivered to you as they come in.
  • if you are getting a service award for being a 5, 10, 15+ year employee, you will get an email from Marnie Wallen to "shop" for your gift?  This is not spam!  We can't wait to hear what you ordered at our last staff meeting.
  • we have a new cafeteria manager?  Her name is Erika Rojas and she will be in Ms. Mary's place.  Please email her with any sack lunch orders and say HI when you are on lunch duty.
  • there is an online learning opportunity for us from Apple?  Feel free to enroll in  Teachers' Essential Guide to Creativity with Apple Intelligence, co-hosted with Common Sense Media. The event will provide an in-depth exploration of this new resource in the series. You can join sessions at 12:00 noon CDT or 5:00 p.m. CDT.

YEARBOOK
Order your 2025-26 yearbooks today! You must order online by TUESDAY. Type in Richard J Lee Elementary. Yearbook ID: 13015826.

STAAR TESTING THURSDAY
Please remind parents that there will be no visitors on campus on Thursday, April 9. We also ask that students avoid scheduling doctor appointments, avoid late arrivals, and do not have early pick-ups on that day.

Designers, your boxed lunch from Market Street will be available in the lounge. Please be sure to cross your name off the list when you pick up your order. Thank you, Amy, for coordinating the lunch orders and Angel for being the STAAR Queen. It truly takes EVERYONE working together to ensure testing days run smoothly.

TESTING TIPS
Here is a graphic Angel created for testing grades.  ENJOY!

DO GOOD DAY!
Blue House is excited to celebrate Earth Day by participating in service projects for our community. You can help by encouraging your learners to donate hygiene items (toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant), plastic bags (grocery store bags), and newspapers/magazines. We will have large boxes for collection upstairs by the elevator. Thank you for your help with supporting our project!

SUMMATIVES
Summatives start on Friday.  Calendar invites have been sent for the time you signed up for and the document is no longer editable.  If you do not have an invite, see Chantel, immediately.  Please be on time and logged into SSO and Power School Perform and Bulb so we can make the most of our time together.
PLEASE DO NOT stress out about having the PERFECT BULB for this meeting.  I request you have some evidence that documents you have worked toward your two goals and your Student Growth Tracker visible. If you can talk about your SLO with us, we will NOT need to go through every SLO reflection question, so BREATHE!  Reflection questions are attached if you want to know some topics you could discuss related to your SLO.

STEAM NIGHT COMING SOON
The course catalog will come in a ParentSquare from Mrs. Shaner soon! It will show which activities are being offered in each house and in the media center.

This will be an event you WON'T want to miss!

EARTHFEST IS APPROACHING
Mark your calendars to join our learners at this annual event.
