- that starting from this blog post that all classroom doors are to remain locked (even when open)? You should push the button in, close your door, and put the door stop between the door and door frame so that learners can come in and out of your classroom. You should not completely close the door and you should not have someone with a "door job" to let learners in and out. In an emergency, kick out the doorstop and close the door. It will be locked and ready. This is a new safety practice within CISD. This means you will have to bring your keys in case of accidental closures when you leave your space.
- that our student interns from St. Augustine University must periodically send out some VERY BRIEF surveys for our staff to complete? Could you please complete this first survey for Kendall? It took me only minutes! Alyssa will have one next week. Thank you for helping them!
MADRIGALS VISIT LEE ELEMENTARY
The CHS Madrigals will be here tomorrow from (approx) 2:00-2:25. This group will sing holiday songs from the Media Center if you want your class to enjoy. Please still send 4/5 boys to Annah (in Linda's music room) at 2:00. I kindly request that when learners are on the glass walls that we remind them to stay off of the glass and the handles. That many tugging and leaning at one time makes me nervous, but also keep Spurs off of the glass at all times.
DECEMBER TO REMEMBER
Have FUN this week! You are going to want to wear your stretchy pants because there are lots of yummy treats planned this week including lunch from PTO on Wednesday.
PANORAMA SURVEY
The district Panorama survey window is now open. Grades 3-5, it is my expectation that you build 30 minutes of time into your schedule to complete the survey WITH your learners. Learners will need help with you explaining what words mean in elementary language so please go question by question as a class. Please only complete the survey from the link emailed to you from CK on 11/16.
Staff members, please complete your survey as well. If you are not done by the 19th, I will expect you to complete yours before leaving on December 19.

This is a great event put on by the district with yummy snacks, prizes, and more. Please follow our special schedule below designed for this day so that you have time to spend at least 30 minutes at the Admin Building. Thank you Sped and Support Staff for sleuthing out times to go in small groups. Thank you, Amy, for getting the wonky times scheduled with subs.
SEASON FOR GIVING
Looking for a way to serve our community? The Lions Club of Coppell helps CISD learners throughout the school year. We will have a box in the front vestibule for learners to donate to.

- Complete the module in Schoology at your own pace.
- Credit will appear in PowerSchool PL after an overnight sync.
- This course must be completed by January 31, 2026.
- Use the interactive tutorial for quick, step-by-step instructions.
ATTENDANCE UPDATE
As we move into the holiday season, we know families may have special plans and events, but consistent school attendance remains essential for your child’s learning and growth. Every day of instruction matters, especially during this time of year when key concepts are being introduced and reinforced. We kindly remind families that Texas state law requires students to attend at least 90% of school days to receive credit for the year, and extended absences can impact academic progress. If your family anticipates travel or unavoidable absences, please communicate with us at: leeattendance@coppellisd.com as soon as possible so we can help support your child. Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students learning, connected, and thriving.
REPORT CARDS
Report cards have been opened for grade entry. Since we have many learners traveling and withdrawing at this time, we want to make sure we have grades entered before their departure. If you have a learner who has left and will be back, you will need to enter grades for them. To see them in TAC, please follow these instructions. In the upper right of a grade entry screen or a report card screen, click on the person icon:
Select the middle or bottom option and the student will show up in red.

🧠 Getting the Best from AI — Prompting Tips & Tricks
AI can be an incredible thinking partner if you know how to prompt it. Here are a few quick tips to help you get better, faster results when working with AI tools:
- Be specific. Instead of saying “help me with a lesson,” try “help me design a 3rd-grade math lesson on fractions with a hands-on activity.”
- Give context. Let the AI know your goal, audience, and constraints (for example, “for English learners” or “15-minute warm-up”).
- Iterate. Your first prompt is rarely your best. Ask follow-up questions like “revise this to be more engaging” or “make this fit into one class period.”
- Model what you want. Include examples, tone, or structure you’d like it to use, similar to how you model expectations for students.
- Reflect and refine. After you get a response, tweak your prompt and see how the output improves.
Think of prompting as a conversation, not a command. The more you coach the AI, the better your results. Try it out for developing higher level thinking questions, creating extensions to push your learners, generating support ideas for EBs, and more! Want to learn more about leveraging AI? Reach out!
