Week of December 9, 2024

We hope you are looking forward to our second week of gingerbread activities for December to Remember.  We have SO MUCH FUN planning out ways to show you how much we love you and to bring the fun each December!  Thanks for making this a December to Remember for your learners as well!

DID YOU KNOW:
  • your SLO update is to be added to Power School Perform by January 24?  Here is a 2 minute tutorial to walk you through uploading it in Power School.  Please go ahead and get started now.
  • we will have a FUN item on the stage for houses to interact with next week?  Please take opportunities as a house create a schedule to take photos and videos with your kids.  We kindly ask that teachers assist so the surprise is not damaged and can be used for years to come.
    • Monday- Purple House
    • Tuesday- Red House
    • Wednesday- Yellow House
    • Thursday- Blue House
    • Friday- Green House
  • Monday's DTR is breakfast, so save yourself time that morning?
  • starting tomorrow, Officer Thames will give Blue Recess teachers walkies when you are outside at recess.  These will be passed to yellow, then green, then red, then purple.  Purple will give them back to Officer Thames and he will charge them for the next day.  We will talk more in Leadership about this, but we want you to have direct access to admin and the nurse when you are on the playground.

DECEMBER TO REMEMBER
Have FUN this week!

Here is a spirit day calendar for you to share with your families.

STAFF PARTY
We hope you can join us for the Staff Winter Party sponsored by our wonderful Social Spurs.  See you there!  PS- Don't forget your White Elephant gift.

MTSS REMINDER
MTSS is Thursday! Please make sure your goals are updated and you are ready to discus next steps!

TOY AND FOOD DRIVE
Blue 5 is heading up our toy and food drive.  THANK YOU!  Please talk this up and have learners place their donations in the boxes in your house.

REPORT CARDS
Report cards have been opened for grade entry. Since we have many learners traveling and withdrawing at this time, we want to make sure we have grades entered before their departure.

If you have a learner who has left and will be back, you will need to enter grades for them. To see them in TAC, please follow these instructions.

In the upper right of a grade entry screen or a report card screen, click on the person icon:
Select the middle or bottom option and the student will show up in red.

PANORAMA SURVEY
The district Panorama survey window is now open.  Grades 3-5, it is my expectation that you build 30-45 minutes of time into your schedule to complete the survey WITH your learners.  There are more questions on this survey than ever before and learners will need help with you explaining what words mean in elementary language so please go question by question as a class.  If a child cannot log into the survey, this is most likely because their parent has opted out.  Chantel has emailed the five teachers who this applies to.

Staff members, please complete your survey as well.  If you are not done by the 19th, I will expect you to complete yours before leaving on December 20.

Support staff and specialists, if there are any questions that do not apply to your job, please skip the question.  CISD would like 100% participation in the survey.  Thank you for your cooperation.
